Future Space had its first official showcase Friday 3rd Feb, when Venturefest Bath & Bristol 2017 used us as the venue for its event.
The After months of planning, the big day rolled round and Future Space was transformed into an exhibition centre, displaying the new technologies that can and will be used in the ever approaching future of smart cities.
The ‘Hot Desk’ area of Future Space became the exhibitor’s floor where companies had individual booths set up to discuss their visions and innovative ideas for a future of smart cities. At the front entrance sat a row of driverless cars. The ‘Hub Café’ became a demonstration zone with robots, screens showing what new technologies can do and ‘Nooks’ bought in for people to have quiet chat amongst the madness. The large office spaces were turned into seminar rooms, for guest speakers to share their knowledge, creativity and forward thinking ventures of a technological future. Anyone at Venturefest could tune into these talks as they were walking around the exhibitions, through the aid of wireless headphones that were broadcasting the guest speakers.
Future Space’s customers also got involved in the event; networking, listening to talks and in one particular case our customer Esoterix actually teamed up with Venturefest. They set up a shuttle service from Bristol Parkway train station to Future Space that dropped delegates off all day.
The event itself saw 400 delegates from high-tech companies, investors and potential ecosystem partners walk through our doors to learn more about a future of smart cities and in turn find out what a great space Future Space has to offer.
All in all, Venturefest was a resounding success!
