UWE Centre for Fine Print Research – Industry Open Days
September 21, 2021 @ 8:00 am - September 23, 2021 @ 5:00 pm
The Centre for Fine Print Research, at the University of the West of England, Bristol, would like to invite you to attend our upcoming Industry days event 21st – 23rd September, to celebrate our recent move to our new purpose-built labs at the UWE Frenchay campus.
The event will take place at our Frenchay campus where you will be able to see series of demonstrations and presentations from our research staff showing our current research projects, including areas such as our work with pioneering 3D printing with ceramic powder and how we are developing novel approaches to ceramic profile extrusion. Wearable technologies, sustainable clothing and smart composites using Graphene, as well as our traditional printing techniques. Our research also moves beyond the flat surface to 2.5 and 3 dimensions, creating new means and processes for scanning, reproduction, conservation and care of a range of artworks and artefacts including paintings, sculpture, ancient objects, expanding both creative and commercial opportunities.
Our researchers will be on hand to cover any questions you may have, and to discuss how CFPR might be able to help your company with future research development, as well as being able to advise you on funding opportunities, and research consultancy.
The Centre for Fine Print Research (CFPR) is based at the University of the West of England, Bristol. The CFPR has a mission to innovate, contemplate and understand all aspects of print history, practice, manufacturing and materials from developing 3D printable ceramic materials to disruptive printing technologies, developing new inks and collaborating with international artists. The centre’s key research themes focus on all aspects of print technology from past to present, and we have a long history of collaborating with industry partners on research projects and consultancy programmes.
Due to the current Covid situation and for your safety, we plan to run our industry event over a period of three days, 21st, 22nd & 23rd September to allow for smaller groups and to give you a choice of dates with the option of either a morning or afternoon session starting or ending with lunch.
We hope you will be able to join us, to see the fascinating work we do at the centre, and to see how our research may apply to your business.
Please contact askinner@oxin.co.uk if you would like to attend.
