AKT is an Innovate UK-funded programme supporting short, high-impact innovation projects (max 3 months), designed to rapidly evaluate or develop new ideas in partnership with a university.

What this session is about

The session is designed to help you:

• Meet Ellen Parkes – UWE Innovation and KE Manager who will support the application.
• Learn how the AKT programme can support your business with innovation, research, or technical challenges
• Share your current needs, ideas, or growth ambitions for the perfect University match. We will have Dr. Robert Hicks – UWE Business Partnerships Manager guiding you to find the perfect Researcher and give you guidance on how to identify the right academic expertise and develop a strong application

You’ll leave with a clearer pathway for turning your idea into a funded project — with UWE providing ongoing support to broker the right academic collaboration and co-develop your application.

Who should attend?

Business that:

• Has a challenge, opportunity, or idea they want to explore
• Needs access to specialist knowledge, research, or technical expertise
• Is interested in external funding but unsure how to get started

Please check the elegibility criteria before attending this meeting.

• Be a UK-registered business working with a UK knowledge base partner
• Have at least 4 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees.
• Be able to provide a minimum 10% cash contribution to project costs.
• Have a clearly defined innovation challenge or opportunity suitable for rapid development or evaluation.
• Be aiming to create measurable impact or growth through innovation.
